Bro. Selvie
Bro. George Selvie, our chapter Treasurer.
Bro. Selvie is originally from Crawford, MS. He grew up in Pensacola and went to Pensacola Pine Forest and excelled at football. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.A. degree in Communications. He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma at USF in the spring of 2008 at the Zeta Xi Chapter. He was previous a member of the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter before becoming one of the charter members of Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter. He lives in Riverview with his wife, Amber and has a son, George III and a daughter, Kenleigh Georgia.
Bro. Selvie had a stellar football career at USF, playing defensive end and was a consensus All-American. He recently was inducted into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame.
Bro. Selvie was drafted into the NFL by the St. Louis Rams in 2010. During his career, he played with the Rams, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.
His hobbies include Video games and one fun fact about him is that he plays men’s volleyball.

Bro. Guerrier is from Miami, FL and is graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.A. degree in Criminology. He is employed by the City of St. Petersburg as a Law Enforcement Officer. He’s been in Law Enforcement since 2008 and currently works as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at St. Petersburg High School.
Bro. Guerrier was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma in the spring of 2005 at the Zeta Xi Chapter. He was a member of Gamma Eta Sigma before being among the first brothers to join Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter after the chapter was chartered.

Bro. Roderick “Rod” Carter, our chapter 2nd Vice President.
Bro. Carter is from Tallahassee. He is a 1990 graduate of Florida A&M University with a B.S. degree in Journalism. He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma in 1991 through the Beta Lambda Sigma Chapter in Tallahassee. He was previously a member of the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter where he served as the Corresponding Secretary before becoming one of the charter members of Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter. He is a life member of the Fraternity.
Bro. Carter is single, and he has a niece who is also in the media field serving as a TV producer.
Bro. Carter is an award-winning journalist, who currently is an anchor/reporter for WFLA News Channel 8 here in Tampa. He can be seen anchoring at 6, 8 and 11 p.m. on the weekends and serves as a general assignment reporter 3 days a week. He hosts hundreds of community events and serves as a mentor to students in Journalism and teaches a Journalism Short Course for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) at FAMU each year. He serves as the Region 3 Director for the NABJ and is the Immediate Past President of the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists, the NABJ chapter here in the Tampa Bay area. He serves on a variety of community boards and organizations to numerous to list here but a few are the American Diabetes Association, Board of Visitors-FAMU School of Journalism, a life member of the FAMU Alumni Association, and many more.

Bro. Ronald “Ron” Rivera, 1st Vice-President
Bro. Rivera was born in Puerto Rico and then his family moved to New York. He attended public school in Connecticut, graduated and then attended the University of Connecticut. He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma in the fall of 1985 at the Zeta Lambda Chapter. He graduated with a B.S. in Social Science/History and received a master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickerson University.
Bro. Rivera moved to New Jersey and worked as an Education Counselor for ASPIRA, a non-profit education program and then became a New Jersey State Police Officer in March 1988 and retired as a Captain in December 2015.
Bro. Rivera is single and the proud father of one son, Nicolas, who is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma having joined through the Alpha Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of Tampa in the fall of 2016. Nick is currently in the U.S. Army serving as a Combat Medic.

Bro. Tramaine “T-Dot” Whittey, our Social Action Chair and one of the brothers instrumental in chartering Sigma Xi Sigma.
Bro. Whittey was born in Ft. Pierce and moved to Tampa to pursue his education further. He attended the University of South Florida, where he received a B. S. degree in Business Management. Later, he received his Master’s in Organization Leadership. Bro. Whittey is employed by Hillsborough County as a Project Manager. Bro. Whittey is engaged to be married and has one adorable daughter, Bralynn.
He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma in the fall of 2006 at the Zeta Xi Chapter-USF. He has a passion for community service as he has served as Social Action chair on the collegiate and alumni levels. He was a member of Gamma Eta Sigma and was one of 4 brothers, along with Bro. William Betts, Bro. Rod Carter, and Bro. Zannie Mount to form the nucleus to charter a new chapter in Hillsborough County, now known as Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter. He serves as the chapter’s Social Action Chair.
Bro. Whittey’s hobbies include sports and reading. One fun fact about him is that he (in his own words) is the greatest basketball shooter to EVER come through the Zeta Xi Chapter.

He is a graduate of Florida Metropolitan University and has an MBA in Accounting. He is employed with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) as a Tax Associate.
Bro. Wilford was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. through the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter in the spring of 2017, #3-Malice. He served as Financial Secretary in the chapter and then he became a charter member of Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter.
He is currently engaged to be married on July 5, 2020 and he has 2 daughters, ages 21 & 15.

Bro. Jonovan Stafford, our current Corresponding Secretary and Charter member of Sigma Xi Sigma.
Bro. Stafford was born in Jacksonville, FL, but soon after relocated to Tampa where he spent all his formative years. He attended Hillsborough High School, during which time he was a charter member of the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter’s Sigma Beta Club. He decided to leave the bay area and landed at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. After graduating with a bachelor’s in marketing, he came back to town making the Gibsonton area his home.
Bro. Stafford was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. through the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter in the Fall of 2013, #3-Auto. He was a member of Gamma Eta Sigma until 2019 and then become one of charter members of Sigma Xi Sigma chapter.
He married his high school sweetheart Gelisa in 2012. They have 3 children ages 7, 6, and 4. Until the recent economic crisis Bro. Stafford had served as a Branch Manager for Enterprise Holdings. In light of his change of employment, he is pursuing a career in Real Estate where he will locate, renovate, and rent properties. He is on track to have his first unit ready for market before the end of May.

1. During his senior year he served as President of the GES Sigma Beta Club, while at the same time serving as President of the Distinguished Gentlemen, an offshoot of the Kappa League at Hillsborough High.
2. He and his wife have known each other since elementary school and met at church.

He went on to receive his M.S. in Varying Exceptionalities and Ed. S in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Bro. Betts began his teaching career in the Hillsborough County School District as a 2nd grade teacher and now is a Student Success Coach for the District. He is single.
He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., through the Zeta Xi Chapterwww.facebook.com/usfsigmas/ at USF in the Fall of 1997. He was a member of Gamma Eta Sigma until 2019. Bro. Betts, along with Brothers Whittey, Mount and Carter met in August of 2019 to begin the discussions which led to the chartering of Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter and was among the first group of brothers to affiliate with the new chapter.

Bro. Hallmon was born and raised in Miami where he attended Miami Central High School. He received his A.A. degree in Biology/Psychology from Miami-Dade College and in that same year, he moved to Tampa and transferred to the University of South Florida. Bro. Hallmon received his B.A. degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology.
He currently works as a Project Manager for Eurofins TestAmerica, the world leader in Bio-Analytical Testing.
Bro. Hallmon was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. through the Zeta Xi Chapter at USF in the spring of 2005, #5-Rubberband Man. In 2006, he earned the USF NPHC Greek Man of the Year award for his work and dedication on campus and in the Tampa community. He also was inducted in the Pi Gamma Mu International Honors Society in Social Sciences. He transferred into the Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter within the first few months that the chapter was chartered.
He lives in Land O’ Lakes with his wife and they welcomed their 3rd child, a baby girl, on March 10th of this year.

After working in State Government as an Auditor for 6 years, he began to realize how much of an extreme entrepreneur he was and started companies in Construction, Financial and Insurance sectors. Bro. Emmanuel is also a licensed Public Adjuster.
He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in the fall of 2015 through the Beta Lambda Sigma Chapter, number 3 of 6. While in Beta Lambda Sigma, he served as the chapter Bigger & Better Business Chair. He transferred into the Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter in the early months of 2020.

He loves laughter and he is a huge Miami sports fan, vowing to cheer for the Miami Dolphins for the remainder of his life and he is a Miami Heat fan. In high school, he was a lead video/photography intern at Poe Boy Records. He helped to direct, shoot and edit Jacki-o’s music video “Nookie.”
After working in State Government as an Auditor for 6 years, he began to realize how much of an extreme entrepreneur he was and started companies in Construction, Financial and Insurance sectors. Bro. Emmanuel is also a licensed Public Adjuster.

While at USF, he became the president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma in the fall of 2006. He transferred into the Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter and was active until January 2020 when he became a charter member of Sigma Xi Sigma Chapter.

He is the Vice President of the Center of Process Excellence where he has a team to complete process improvement and quality management projects.

He is a divorced father of a beautiful 5-year old daughter, Mikayla and two stepsons, Alian and Bayoahn. Mikayla starts 1st grade next year, Bayoahn will begin high school at Sumner High in Riverview and Alian will attend Southeastern University in Lakeland in the fall on a football scholarship.

Bro. Randolph is employed as a Fuel and Energy Manager-Florida Division with Circle K Corporation.
He was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in the spring of 2003 through the Zeta Xi Chapter at USF, number 1- “Ignition.” While at USF, he along with 3 other Zeta Xi brothers, started a scholarship for deserving upperclassmen. He and his wife, Dr. Luz D. Randolph also started the Randolph BLN Emergency Fund/Scholarship for USF students who are part of the Black Leadership Network (BLN). BLN is a program that offers black students professional development, mentorship, and financial support. Dr. Randolph was instrumental in establishing this program at USF.
Bro. Randolph has been married to Dr. Luz D. Randolph for 8 years and they have 2 children, Sasha-8, and Sebastian-3.
His hobbies include running, reading non-fiction and trying to keep up with his children’s energy level. He recently started kickboxing as a workout option.

Bro. Kimpson was born in Detroit but moved to St. Petersburg when he was 9 years old. He is the youngest of 4 children. He is a graduate of Gibbs Senior High School in 1984 and then enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served for 21 years before retiring in 2005.
Bro. Kimpson received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Leo University, a master’s degree in Education Technology from Strayer University and is currently a doctoral candidate at Capella University pursuing a terminal degree in Education Leadership and Management.
He is employed as a professor at the Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) and at Hillsborough Community College (HCC).
